About Microform
Microform includes more than 2-million items, ranging from historical documents from a variety of Canadian and international sources to contemporary newspapers, domestic and foreign. For details of some of the special collections, click on Find Microform Material
In Library Viewing Facilities: Readers, Reader/Printers
We have microfilm/microfiche copiers and readers in the Media Commons reading room. Copies cost 20 cents per page and require the use of a copy card. Media Commons staff are available at all times to assist users with accessing, viewing and printing microforms.
For specialized equipment, such as microprint reading, please consult Media Commons staff.
Borrowing & Reserving
The Microform collection is a closed stack collection. To access the collection, please complete a pink request form available at the Media Commons service desk. A staff member will retrieve the material for you. Printed finding aids are available for many Microform collections . Please ask Media Commons staff.
The collection is open to everyone. Some restrictions may apply.
Some microform material and CD-ROM's may circulate out of Media Commons to patrons with a valid UofT library card. The regular loan period is two weeks.
