The Media Commons hosts a vast microform (microfilm, microfiche, microtext) collection which includes nearly 3-million items, ranging from historical documents to contemporary newspapers, both domestic and international.
The microform collection also includes University of Toronto Masters and PhD dissertations on microfiche. Digital copies may be available online through TSpace, the University of Toronto Libraries institutional repository.
This collection is closed, meaning staff assistance is required for access. Please approach the Media Commons service desk in order to retrieve or borrow the item(s) you need. Finding aids may also be avaialble at the service desk.
Special note regarding finding aids for Central and Eastern European Collections: The Petro-Jacyk Resource Centre (Robarts Library, 3rd floor) has produced several finding aids, available on their website.
A number of digital microform scanners are available in the Media Commons for drop-in use. Media Commons staff is available at all times to assist with setup.
Digital scans may be made to a USB storage device free of charge, while printed copies cost $0.15 per page and require the use of a TCard or guest print/copy card.
