About microform

Microform includes nearly 3-million items, ranging from historical documents from a variety of Canadian and international sources to contemporary newspapers, domestic and foreign.  For details click on Finding Microform

In Library Viewing/Scanning Facilities

Digital microform scanners, equipped to handle microfilm, microfiche and microprint,  are available in the Media Commons Reading room.  Digital scans can be made to a USB storage device free of charge.  Printed copies cost 15-cents per page and require the use of a TCard/Copy card.  Media Commons staff is available at all times to assist.


Borrowing & Reserving

 No reservations required.  The Microform collection is a closed stack collection, but staff is available to retrieve and assist.  Printed finding aids for many Microform collections are available at the Media Commons Service desk .

The collection is open to everyone, but only those with a valid TCard may borrow materials outside Media Commons. The regular loan period is two weeks.  Some restrictions may apply.
